Main Street Week

Wilburton Main Street is excited to announce
Main Street week will be held in September 2023!

MainStreetWeek1

Main Street week is a time to reflect the history of Wilburton. Wilburton became a city in 1902. At that time there were many businesses which catered to the thriving mining industry and many new buildings were going up. These buildings still stand on our Main Street today.

Monday and Tuesday of Main Street Week, we will have our 5th grade walking tours taking place on Main Street. This tour is to introduce students to these buildings and to the history of our city. To provide the kids a visual of the stories Main Street partnered up with the High School drama club. The students will speak on the buildings while in costume.

Wednesdays we host the 4th graders come and step off the Latimer County Courthouse and other activities. This is a fun way to include different grades into Main Street Week. We will be giving some history on the site as well.

Thursdays are for  3rd graders come to downtown and participate in a sidewalk drawing contest. We will have them draw their favorite building and or sign that are downtown. A winner will picked and presented with a prize

Fridays are  the annual customer appreciation lunching. The sponsors of the lunch are yet to be determined. Lunch will be served in the parking lot of Huskins from 11-1.

Please come and join our Main Street week! We would love to see you!
