Farm House Café Ribbon Cutting

Mike and Brandy Childress, owners of Farm House Café, originally came from East Texas.  The family previously owned and operated a diner with family and decided to venture out on their own.  Their journey began when the couple traveled to Oklahoma for a week in hopes of finding the perfect affordable restaurant.  With no luck, the couple stopped in at a convenience store for something to drink and to purchase a paper.  With no restaurants listed, the couple did however run across an Atwood Sale.  Mcalester Atwoods was programed into the GPS.  As Brandy was checking out, she made small talk with the cashier.  She mentioned she was looking for a restaurant to lease.  The cashier happened to be from Wilburton and explained how one of our restaurants had recently closed and the owner was looking for someone to lease it.  The cashier put Brandy in contact with the owner and so their journey began.

Brandy felt as they drove through town that first time that it was the place for them.  In such a short time, they feel welcomed and loved.  They are looking forward to being a part of the community for years to come.
