Wilburton Main Street’s “20 Men Who Cook”

What a successful night we had Saturday night at our Main Street fundraiser, 20 Men Who Cook! We raised over $1,000 for our facade grants. Nothing better than seeing community members enjoying themselves for a good cause. Thanks again to all the cooks and volunteers. Thanks to the Digger Forward Wilburton High School students who assisted in setting up the ballroom on Friday afternoon.  Without you all these fundraisers would not be possible.

We try to change the prizes every couple of years, and this year we gave sets of Rada knives to the winners in each category. A special thank you to Caleb Woten for labeling each set of knives for us. The beautiful decorations on each table were donated by Talbots Flowers.  A special thank you to all the businesses who donated prizes: Two Little Dears, Pipers Pretties, True Value, Tractor Supply, Stitch-N-Stuff, Camo and Lace, Sun Baby, Eastern Oklahoma State College, Beavers Creek Horse Supply, Little Country Flowers, Bumper to Bumper, Jeff Cox Insurance, Jim Grego, Rhonda Bell and Latimer County Tag Agency. Without the prizes, we would not be able to have a raffle. We would also like to thank Danel Walker for producing an amazing slide show of Main Streets accomplishments from 2017 and Eastern Oklahoma State College for allowing us to use their facility free of charge.

Winners in each category are:
Appetizer – Dakota Cook
Barbeque – Emory Smith
Chili – CC Puckett, Dessert – Lee Wesley
Entrée – Glenn Cook
Side Dish – Maurice Hawthorne
Soup – Dan Miller
Overall – Maurice Hawthorne.

Congratulations to all! We look forward to next year!
