Main Street Wilburton hosted 20 Men Who Cook
on Saturday after a 3 year shut down

The smell of crab cakes, Tiramisu, steak, smoked sausage, chili and so much more filled the air at the EOSC Ballroom for the 2023 Twenty Men Who Cook event, last Saturday night. The annual event raises money and awareness for rehabilitation of Wilburton’s historic downtown. Twenty-three cooks presented food samples in 7 different categories: Appetizers, Chili, Soups, Side Dishes, Main Entrees, Desserts and BBQ.
Each attendee had the opportunity to judge the entries for winners in each category plus an overall People’s Choice Award.

Main Street President, Loran Mayes, would like to extend a thank you to Amanda Byers, Main Street Program Manager, the Main Street Board, Lucas Hedgecock, the table sponsors, and the many volunteers that made this event possible. Mayes shares, “When our community comes together for a cause, we can make an impact and tonight was a fun, beautiful example of this”.

Congratulations to Justin Lowder, this year’s holder of the People’s Choice award trophy. Justin’s Deer Poppers were incredibly delicious! Make plans now to compete next year, take home the trophy and be the Best of the Men Who Cook in Wilburton!
